Winter ITU Tri Has Races For All Levels
Tackle three or five winter sports at the Pentathlon des neiges in Québec City, February 19-28, 2016
And if three consecutive winter sports aren’t enough of a challenge for you, there’s also a Snow Pentathlon (called the Pentathlon des neiges), a five-sport winter endurance race where participants bike, run, ski, skate and snowshoe in consectutive order to complete the event. Both the Québec ITU Triathlon and Pentathlon des neiges are happening in Quebec City from February 19 to 28, 2016.
The Québec ITU Triathlon – which also happens to be a World Cup event -- offers a sprint or standard distance for age groupers, elites, and paratriathletes, as well as a relay format for teams of two or three.
The Pentathlon offers multiple challenges of varying levels of difficulty over the duration of the Pentathlon des neiges, so all levels and abilities can take part. Compete solo or put together a team of two to five to tackle one or more of the five winter sport stages, which can take anywhere between 20 to 40 minutes each to complete. Just like in regular triathlon, there will be a transition area and participants will be timed from start to finish.
If pedaling through the streets of Old Québec, running on the Grande-Allée and skating, skiing and snowshoeing your way around the historic site of the Plains of Abraham sounds like fun challenge, register for one or more of the Pentathlon des neiges events before prices increase on January 13.
