Don't Miss This New Fall Race
Start the fall running season off on the right foot with the Daffodil Dash, a new 5K/10K race on September 11, 2016
If you’re in the Mississauga, ON area and have yet to set your sights on a goal race for the pre-fall season (or are still looking for a shorter distance tune-up race before your half or full marathon), you should check out the Canadian Cancer Society’s new 5K and 10K race—The Daffodil Dash—coming up on September 11, 2016 at Erindale Park. Not only will participants get to run on the mixed terrain and scenic trails of Erindale Park (which we hear is beautiful at this time of year ) with incredible views of the Credit River, but also get to raise funds for a good cause and have fun while doing so.
The Daffodil Dash is a fundraising run to help the Canadian Cancer Society fight cancer by funding lifesaving research as well as programs and services to help Canadians living with cancer. When you register, you will automatically get access to a personal fundraising page, which you can customize with a photo and story if you so choose. You will also have access to a number of tools and resources to help make online fundraising easy.
Aside from the chance to run for a good cause, all registered runners in both the 5K and 10K distance races (which are both chip-timed) will receive a race kit bag with your race bib, race t-shirt, and a number of other goodies, plus a sweet medal when you cross the finish line. Details on race kit pick-up will be announced closer to the event date, so keep an eye on their website for more details.
So whether you’re looking for your very first competitive race or you’re training for that big fall run, the Canadian Cancer Society has got you covered! Be sure to register online by August 26 to get the early bird rates ($40 for the 5K and $50 for the 10K). You can register as an individual, join an existing team, or create your own team and invite your friends to run and fundraise with you. Runners choosing different distances or aiming for different finish times can still participate together as a team.
