Here are the details of the massive new global World Trail Majors running series

Trail running enthusiasts worldwide have reason to rejoice with the establishment of World Trail Majors, an association bringing together emblematic races from around the globe. This initiative marks a significant milestone in the history of trail running, tracing back to its roots and preserving its original spirit.

The founding ethos of World Trail Majors revolves around environmental stewardship, historical significance, and natural beauty. These races serve as a pilgrimage for both elite athletes and recreational runners, offering an unparalleled experience amidst breathtaking landscapes while advocating for the conservation of ecosystems.

Five of the races, including the Hong Kong 100, The North Face Transgrancanaria, Mt. Fuji 100 Mile, MIUT, and RMB Ultra-Trail Cape Town, were formerly affiliated with the Ultra-Trail World Tour, a now-defunct organization. The new series gives these races and others a chance to work collaboratively and share resources.

The first two races have already been complete, with the Black Canyon Ultra being run last weekend, Feb. 10-11.
