Paula Findlay, now a three-time national time trial champion, has been named by Cycling Canada to represent the nation at the upcoming UCI World Championships in Zurich.
Findlay will compete in the 29.9 km individual time trial on Sunday, September 22, 2024, just six days before she races in the T100 Ibiza. The time trial course runs from Gossau to Zurich and features a total elevation gain of 327 meters.
Last year, Findlay finished 25th at the world championships in Glasgow, Scotland, during only her third time trial. She mentioned on Instagram that she was unwell for that race.

“It was one of my favourite sporting experiences ever. The support from professional mechanics, the team car, the vibrant crowds, and pushing my physical limits for 36 km made it unforgettable,” she said, on an Instagram post. “I achieved my best power output, but I lost time on corners and technical sections. Having only done three time trials, I learned a lot and hope to improve with specific position and technical work. The competition was fierce, and it was incredible to learn from such talented athletes.”
Earlier this year, Findlay secured her third consecutive national time trial title during a hectic weekend, managing to get her bike just hours before the event. She followed that victory with a win at the Ironman 70.3 Mont-Tremblant a couple of days later.
