The annual Ski to Sea relay race in Bellingham, Washington could be one of the most unique and epic events anywhere. One that is more than worth a roadtrip to this gorgeous Pacific Northwest coastal town located between Vancouver, BC and Seattle. 

This exciting race, first run in 1973, is celebrating its 50th Anniversary this year! This multisport team race is a unique blend of seven legs; cross-country skiing, downhill ski/snowboard, running, road bike, canoe, cyclocross, and sea kayak. The event takes place on Memorial Day Weekend, Sunday, May 28th this year, and attracts a diverse group of participants from around the world. The race begins at the famous Mount Baker Ski Area and ends at Bellingham Bay. 

Teams will have a minimum of three racers and a maximum of eight and maximum number of entries is 500 teams. The Race course runs through the towns of Glacier, Maple Falls, Kendall, Everson, Lynden, and Ferndale, finishing at Marine Park in the historic Fairhaven district of Bellingham. 

The Sea to Ski race is not only a challenging event, but it is also a fun and exciting experience. The event attracts a wide variety of participants from Olympic/professional athletes and fitness enthusiasts to every day adventures and high schoolers. With divisions like family, corporate and car-free (zero emissions) among many others, it creates the opportunity for people to challenge themselves physically and mentally while experiencing the natural beauty of Bellingham and the surrounding areas.
