Skiing and snowboarding aficionados rejoiced as yet another snowstorm blanketed Le Massif de Charlevoix, transforming the landscape into a winter wonderland. On Sunday, March 17, enthusiasts flocked to the slopes, relishing the freshly powdered trails.
Spring skiing in Eastern Northern American is shaping up to be a dud in most areas, but not all of them. A substantial accumulation of 28 cm graced the summit of the mountain, providing ideal conditions for skiing and snowboarding. The pristine snowfall further perfected the ski area, ensuring an exhilarating experience for visitors.
Le Massif is nestled in Petite-Rivière-Saint-François, Charlevoix, Quebec, approximately 90 km northeast of Quebec City. With a vertical drop of 770 m (2,526 ft), the highest in Eastern Canada and east of the Rockies, it stands as a beacon for winter sports enthusiasts. What sets Le Massif apart is its unique accessibility, offering skiing from both the base and summit, a rarity among ski resorts.

Among its notable features, Le Massif stands out as the steepest trail, boasting an impressive pitch of 64%. It is also home to the only alpine training center east of the Rockies for Canada’s athletes, making the resort a significant hub for competitive skiing.
Despite the encroaching spring season, the winter spirit prevails in the Charlevoix region, with upcoming events like the Massif Open presented by Carlsberg on March 23 and the long-awaited return of the Reggae Bash and Splash on April 6.
