An unforgettable trail run experience where dreams blend with reality in heavenly lands

Surrounded by fairy chimneys, rock churches, underground cities, the valleys and plateaus, the Cappadocia with its magical nature situated between the reality and dream is hosting an ultra trail running event in the last week of October since 2014.

The synthesis of the natural and cultural heritage preserves Cappadocia in the list of UNESCO World Heritage sites. The idea of running in this unique region inspired 761 athletes from 41 countries in its second year and promised to be one of the popular event in the ultra trail calendar. It wasn’t so far that, it could be awarded the “Future Event” title to be included in 2016 Ultra Trail World Tour calendar.

The event will be held on October 22-23 this year and will feature three different trail distances. Both 110K (3340m+) and 60K (1801m+) run in ITRA certified courses and offer finishers 5 and 3 UTMB points, respectively. It should also be noted that the Ultra Trail course has been revised this year to ensure that the most photographed places of the region are passed through by the runners during daylight. The shorter distance 30K (940m+) is considered to be such a pay off for first time competitors in Cappadocia’s wonders.

Apart from the exceptional courses, the organization also offers complementary airport shuttle transfers, and reasonable accommodation opportunities in cave hotels. Welcome party for all participants with the selections of Turkish cuisine, athlete friendly organization details and side activities for spectators such as a hot air balloon tour, sightseeing packages or guided tours for museums are among attractive features of the event.

The GC winners and runner-ups of the last edition are; Matthias Krah, Andis Rumbenieks, Robert Britton in Men’s Category, and Francesca Canepa, Mariya Nikolova, Anna Mattsson in Women’s Category.
