Quebec's Tremblant resort opens for the 2021 ski and snowboard season
On Nov. 25, Quebec’s venerable Tremblant ski resort opened its lifts to the first skiers and boarders of the 2021-22 season.
Due to recent warm weather, conditions for the opening weekend remain marginal. There are three runs in the upper half of the mountain, on versant Sud and versant Nord, and two lifts were open.
That didn’t slow down or temper the enthusiasm of the passionate skiers and boarders who visited Tremblant on opening day, and who will have to download off the mountain using the gondola at the end of the day.
Tremblant is working hard to maximize snow-making windows to open up as much skiable terrain as rapidly as possible.
Validating proof of vaccination has been a top priority for several days already to give pass holders the best possible experience on the mountain. As a result of these new safety measures, lifts will be running at full capacity so mountain enthusiasts can spend more time on the slopes and less time in lift lines.
Tremblant is located in the Laurentian Mountains north of Montreal, Quebec and is often cited as one of the top ski resorts in Eastern North America. It boasts more than 750 skiable acres and 102 trails.
