Whistler Blackcomb, North America’s largest ski resort, has announced that it will kick off its 2024/25 winter season on Friday, November 22, conditions permitting. The resort, known for its expansive terrain and world-class facilities, is gearing up for another season filled with exciting experiences for skiers and snowboarders.
This year, guests will experience the debut of the upgraded Jersey Cream Express chairlift, a new high-speed six-person lift that promises to enhance the visitor experience by improving upload capacity in the Glacier Creek Zone of Blackcomb Mountain. This follows last season’s upgrade to the Fitzsimmons Express and is part of Whistler Blackcomb’s ongoing investment in infrastructure.
In addition to the lift upgrade, Whistler Blackcomb will host the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025 from February 8-16, marking the first-ever winter edition of the event. The Games will feature over 500 competitors from more than 20 nations, competing in adaptive sports, including Alpine Skiing and Snowboarding.
The resort will also see the return of popular events such as the World Ski and Snowboard Festival, the Whistler Pride and Ski Festival, the 39th Annual Peak to Valley Race, and the Whistler Cup.
For those planning a visit, the resort is offering various pass options, with prices set to increase after September 2. Options include the Whistler Blackcomb EDGE Card, the Epic Pass, and the Whistler Blackcomb Day Pass, which provide significant savings compared to regular lift tickets.
New for this season, Whistler Blackcomb is introducing Mobile Pass technology, allowing guests to access the slopes directly from their phones via the My Epic app. This hands-free system, using low-energy Bluetooth technology, aims to streamline the experience by eliminating the need for physical passes or lift tickets.
Additionally, the resort is offering a new service called My Epic Gear, a membership program that provides access to premium ski and snowboard equipment without the need to purchase or transport gear. This service includes daily slopeside pick-up and drop-off and is available at several Vail Resorts locations, including Whistler Blackcomb.
Visitors can also look forward to a range of dining options on the mountain, including the return of the Horstman Hut, known for its European-style menu, and the newly renovated Corona Mountaintop Lodge. The resort will also feature Indigenous-inspired dishes created in collaboration with the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre, available at select locations.
