Mont Saint-Denis is back as a hundred ski and snowboard athletes from around the world descent on a slice of Montreal for Apik, a unique and awesome winter action sports festival.

The anticipation is building as the Action Sports Association (ASA), in collaboration with the Quartier des Spectacles Partnership and TRIBU, gears up for the highly anticipated return of APIK, the exhilarating winter sports event that will once again transform Saint-Denis Street into Mont Saint-Denis. Scheduled to take place from March 1 to 3, this second edition promises to reignite the alpine spirit within the heart of the city.

Following the success of its inaugural edition, which saw the participation of 100 local and international athletes and drew a crowd of 47,500 festivalgoers to the Quartier Latin, APIK is set to deliver another adrenaline-fueled spectacle. With Saint-Denis Street becoming Mont Saint-Denis, spectators can expect thrilling skiing and snowboarding competitions that will showcase the talents of both seasoned professionals like Olympian Laurie Blouin and passionate amateurs alike.

The competition will be free for all to attend. TRIBU, the creative force behind the renowned JACKALOPE action sports festival, is back with an enhanced concept, featuring 100 male and female athletes competing for a total of $25,000 in prizes. Spectators will be treated to a display of skill and style as competitors navigate the custom-built course amid the street’s vibrant atmosphere of lights and sounds, undoubtedly drawing large crowds and the presence of industry-leading brands.

“Montreal is our playground! Whether with JACKALOPE, which is now a series of North American events, and now with APIK, we are creating and developing daring concepts that inspire unique adrenaline-charged moments,” says TRIBU president Micah Desforges. “Our mission is to highlight action sports by creating opportunities for communities to get together, celebrate their passion and reach the next level. With APIK, we’re bringing the spirit of the mountains to the city, and we’ll get to see some amazing talent up close.”

For snowskate enthusiasts, Friday will offer the chance to engage in friendly competition, while Saturday will open the opportunity for the public to experience snowskating firsthand.

But APIK isn’t just about the thrill of competition; it’s also about embracing the après-ski culture. Thanks to the collaboration of local merchants, Saint-Denis Street will pulsate with energy day and night, providing the perfect backdrop for unforgettable ski days and lively post-slope festivities.

To keep the party going, Fireball and l’Abreuvoir Bar & Terrasse will host après-ski on their heated terrace on March 2, coinciding with Nuit Blanche, extending a warm welcome to athletes and revelers alike.
